Here at Craft Gin Club, we pride ourselves on knowing a special gin when we see (and taste!) one. Every month, we search far and wide before sending an exciting surprise craft gin to our members - and one thing’s for sure: it’s always absolutely delicious, comes in a beautiful bottle, with a special distillery story to boot!
We often work closely with distillers to create an exclusive gin for our members, so we’re always excited when they win well-earned awards for their incredible gin! Everyone loves good news and good ginny news is even better! Which is why we were overjoyed when we heard that the North Yorkshire distillery, Whitby Gin have won a Master (which trumps silver and gold!) in The Design & Packaging Masters 2021 awards.
Yes, craft gin has to taste out-of-this-world to be featured on our shop and gin of the month boxes, but we know how much a stunning bottle matters too. (Psst: if you love pretty gin bottles, be sure to check out these ones). Even though it’s what’s on the inside that counts, an eye-catching bottle certainly goes a long way!
We first featured Whitby Gin back in October 2020 as our Gin of the Month (with an exclusive Demeter edition made for our members). We’re a huge fan of their original edition, too - and so were the judges! Five gins won a master, and Whitby Gin won for its “gorgeous texture and striking cut‐out label sat atop smoother glass”. And we totally agree...
Whitby Gin The Original Edition is a stunning expression of the seaside town of Whitby and the gorgeous countryside that surrounds it. Made with foraged botanicals from the Yorkshire coastline and its heather-topped moors, this award-winning tipple is a true taste of the region. You need to give it a try! And Whitby Gin wasn't the only winner from the Craft Gin Club family, Compt Ge Grasse 44 Gin (a divine discovery gin from the French Riviera) got a gold award. We are very proud indeed!
Fancy raising a glass to this gin-credible news? Then we recommend pairing Whitby gin with Mediterranean tonic water (but it's also great with a herby, citrusy tonic like Navas Garden), a slice of fresh pink grapefruit and sprig of rosemary. Congratulations to both - Cheers!
