New celebrity gins alert! Enter Ozzy Osbourne and Gordon Ramsey…

Gordon Ramsey

Here at Craft Gin Club, we know you Craft Gin Clubbers love discovering a new gin!

Whether it’s a hot-off-the-press limited-edition craft gin, brand new celebrity gin, or an exciting discovery gin (with weird and wonderful flavours!), we’re all ears!

Celebrity spirits and drinks are big business: from Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin (which was sold to industry giant Diageo for a whopping $610 million!) to George Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila, they’re all getting in on the action.

And the latest two celebs to dip their toe in the ginny world? None other than chef Gordon Ramsey and rock star Ozzy Osbourne (yes, really!).

So what’s our verdict? Keep reading to find out…

Gordon Ramsey Gin

First up, multi-Michelin star chef Gordon Ramsey has collaborated with Eden Mill St. Andrews, a distillery and brewery selling premium Scottish gins, whisky, and more.

Ramsey’s Gin Recipe No.1 is inspired by the bountiful landscape of Scotland, with sustainable credentials to boot!

The botanicals are sourced locally from Eden Mill in St. Andrews - and one thing’s for sure - Scotland knows a thing or two about making delicious gin…

It’s a twist on the classic London Dry and strikes the perfect balance of being savoury, with floral and citrus notes. And as the world-renowned chef has chosen the experimental botanicals himself, we’re expecting big things!

“It’s exciting to work with a team that shares my passion for experimenting with unique ingredients”, says Ramsey, “and we’re very fortunate that the distillery is a stone’s throw from where these exceptional botanicals can be found.’’

And that begins right at the base of the gin: the Honeyberries are picked from nearby fields and the seaweed is harvested sustainably from the windy coasts of Fife.

Alongside these local botanicals, there are fennel seeds, lemon verbena, lavender, and pink peppercorn to add a lovely spicy hint.

And better still? The bespoke bottle is recyclable and uses 18% less glass than an industry-standard bottle.

So how should you drink Ramsey’s Gin Recipe No.1? They recommend trying it in a dry martini with vermouth and lemon peel - check out our amazing martini recipe here.

And the other, more surprising celebrity gin that’s launched? Ozzy Osbourne's very own - called the Ultimate Gin - named after The Ultimate Sin (the former Black Sabbath album).

Ozzy Osbourne London Dry Gin

At a punchy 47% ABV, it’s a rock ‘n’ roll tipple that’s described by the manufacturers as a bold, classic London Dry Gin - and it’s even got a Silver Award for quality from the IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition).

So what does Ozzy Osbourne’s The Ultimate Gin taste like? It’s said to have a complex taste with citrus and herb notes, with a strong aftertaste.

The question is: which one do you want to try?

If you’ve given either of them a go - let us know over on our Instagram or Facebook!
