Craft Gin Clubbers will recognise more than a few winners from the World Gin Awards 2022!

The recipients of the World Gin Awards have been announced and we are very glad to say that Craft Gin Clubbers will recognise more than a few gins on the list of winners.

From Country Winners to Gold medallists and more than a few not-too-shabby glimmers of Silver and Bronze, we are so proud to announce that craft gins from Craft Gin Club’s online shop and our Family of Distillers have taken home more than 30 medals altogether. Yes, over 30!

We were overjoyed to see so many gins that we have loved sharing with Craft Gin Club members over years collecting so many prizes across the board. In this feature, we are highlighting some of the standout gins in each World Gin Awards category that you simply must try if you haven’t done so already.

World Gin Awards 2022 Wold’s Best Classic Gin:

If you were a member of Craft Gin Club in August 2019 then you will already know what a tremendous craft gin Manly Spirits Australian Dry Gin is - it was Craft Gin Club’s August 2019 Gin of the Month, after all.

It will come as no shock then that this tipple has won Gold in the World’s Best Classic Gin category at the World Gin Awards 2022! With its beautiful and expertly balanced mix of fruit, citrus and pepper spice tones, all complementing that classic juniper-forward flavour profile, it is delicious.

And if you love that then you should definitely try Manly Spirits Co. Lilly Pilly Pink Gin - it’s available to order on the Craft Gin Club online shop right here!

World Gin Awards 2022 World’s Best Contemporary Style Gin:

“Contemporary Style Gin” refers to a new style of gin that pulls back on the juniper flavours (although they are certainly a key element of their flavour profile) to allow for other botanicals to shine through more prominently.

Hendricks Gin with its cucumber-forward profile is a popular example of this type of gin, but one of our favourites has to be Romeo’s Gin, which is available here - it’s a must-try!

Micil Irish Gin, World Gin Awards Country Winner

We were so very pleased to see that Micil Distillery was the Country Winner for the Republic of Ireland this year with their signature edition, Micil Irish Gin. This was certainly no surprise to us, this gin’s remarkable mix of floral and citrus notes is truly special.

If you were lucky enough to try Micil Spiced Orange Irish Gin, our October 2021 Gin of the Month, then you will no doubt already be in love with this incredible distillery, just like we are.

Another very honourable mention in this category has to go to the Four Pillars Gin Distillery.

This world-renown distillery from Australia won two World’s Best Contemporary Gin Silver medals this year, one for Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin and another for Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin - a lip-smacking edition that’s full of mouthwatering spice tones that work SO well in a Negroni.

World Gin Awards 2022 World’s Best Flavoured Gins

No gin collection would be complete without one or two fabulous flavoured gins, and with so many unique, creative and utterly scrumptious flavoured gins out there, this category is always exciting.

When it comes to creative flavour pairings in gin, the team at the Three Wrens Gin Distillery in Cheshire are masters. Three Wrens Raspberry Moderna Cask Finished Gin is sublime, of course, but today’s star is Three Wrens Bison Grass Gin, winner of the Gold medal in the category of World’s Best Contemporary Gins at the World Gin Awards.

This spectacular is made with home ground Bison Grass, which is also known as sweetgrass, and it’s full of wonderfully moreish fresh green grass and herb flavours that never fail to get our mothers watering.

If you haven’t tried it yet then what are you waiting for? Get bottles of Three Wrens Bison Grass Gin here!

World Gin Awards 2022 World’s Best London Dry Gin

World’s Best London Dry Gin is always a lively category, with the London Dry style of gin production being such a respected and well-practised form of distilling.

We were so happy to see Yorkshire’s Otterbeck Distillery shining bright in this category, with a Silver medal for Captain Tom’s London Dry Gin, a Bronze medal for Otterbeck Winter Cotton Gin and another Bronze for their fragrant Otterbeck Cotton Garden Gin, which was Craft Gin Club’s September 2021 Gin of the Month.

If you didn’t get our September 2021 gin box, not to worry, you can still find Otterbeck Cotton Garden Gin on the Craft Gin Club online shop at this link!

Otterbeck wasn’t the only past Gin of the Month to win in this category this year. The River Test Distillery, the marvellous Hampshire-based distillery behind our March 2021 Gin of the Month, The River Test Distillery Chalk Stream Gold, won a Bronze medal for their signature edition, The River Test Distillery London Dry Gin!
