Here at Craft Gin Club, we’re always looking for new ways to jazz up classic cocktail recipes, and we think we’ve hit the bullseye with this fabulous tipple!
Meet the Italian 75: a delicious twist on the classic gin cocktail, the French 75!
Here, we’ve used that much-loved Italian liqueur, limoncello, in place of the traditional simple syrup you’ll find in a French 75. This inspired tweak adds a wonderfully sweet, citrus-infused depth of flavour to the drink - and is guaranteed to transport you to dreams of Mediterranean terraces in the sunshine! Bellissimo!
In total, you only need four simple ingredients - gin, limoncello (we recommend Pallini), fresh lemon juice and prosecco - to whip up this elegant, refreshing cocktail in seconds.
No shaker or fancy equipment is needed, either - you don’t even need ice! (Although we would highly recommend popping your champagne flutes in the freezer for a few minutes before serving your drink, to ensure they are beautifully chilled.) Salute!
Italian 75
25ml gin
25ml limoncello (we love Limoncello Pallini)
15ml lemon juice
100ml prosecco, or to top up
Twist of lemon peel, to garnish (optional)
Add the first three ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled champagne flute or saucer and top with prosecco (cava or champagne are also suitable). Alternatively, if you don’t have a shaker, simply chill all your ingredients in advance, add the gin, limoncello and lemon juice then mix well, before topping up with your sparkling wine.
Garnish with a twist of lemon peel, being careful to avoid the bitter white pith. Serve.
