This drop-dead gorgeous “hard shake” is a boozy chocolate milkshake like no other! Made full-fat or vegan-friendly, it’s the perfect chilled treat for chocolate milkshake lovers, come spring, summer, autumn or winter!
For this recipe, we were inspired by the incredible H!P Salty Pretzel Mini Chocolate Bar and H!P Salted Caramel Mini Chocolate Bar that we sent in Craft Gin Club’s May 2023 Gin of the Month box. They are remarkably creamy chocolate bars that just happen to be vegan - we are in love!
We have replicated their creamy texture and sumptuous chocolaty, biscuity, caramel-y allure in this “hard shake” recipe, which sees gin mixed with caramel syrup, oat milk and vegan-friendly ice cream. All of those rich, decadent, sweet tones are balanced with a touch of salt to really make them sing.
The oat milk gives the recipe those pretzel-esque biscuit tones, which are then accentuated by the grated H!P garnish. We cannot get enough.
What’s more, this recipe is very easy to make at home. All you have to do is blend all of the ingredients together and pour. Et voila!

Boozy Chocolate Pretzel Milkshake
50ml gin
10ml caramel syrup
150ml oat milk
1 large scoop of dairy-free/vegan vanilla ice cream
1 tsp cacao powder
1 pinch of salt
A plant-based or vegan whipped cream and grated H!P chocolate, to garnish
Add all the ingredients apart from the garnish to a blender and blend with a handful of cubed ice. Garnish, serve and enjoy!
