This twist on Lemon, Lime & Bitters makes for a fab low-calorie, low-sugar gin cocktail and it's not the only one...

Whether you have strict New Year’s resolutions to stick to or simply want a lighter, less calorific or sugary cocktail experience, these two low-calorie, low-sugar, high-flavour gin cocktail recipes are perfect for you!

The key to keeping the sugar and calorie count down for any gin cocktail is choosing the right mixer - gin has one of the lowest calorie counts of any alcohol with just 55 calories per 25ml serving and London dry gin should contain no more than 1 gram of sugar per litre (learn more here!). That’s why, for these cocktails, we have gone with the Acti-Vit Sparkling Vitamin Water, which Craft Gin Club members can find in their January 2023 Gin of the Month box. This amazing drink contains no sugar and only 3 calories per can!

What’s more, each can of Acti-Vit Sparkling Vitamin Water contains your recommended daily allowance of seven different vitamins, including B12 and magnesium, which help to reduce fatigue, support immune health and more!

Both their Lemon, Lime & Orange edition and Tropical Boost edition are brimming with fantastic flavours that work so well with gin in these gorgeous serves!

Lemon, Lime, Orange & Bitters

Lemon, Lime & Bitters is considered Australia's national drink. It’s a mix of lemonade or sprite, lime cordial and a few dashes of Angostura bitters. We’ve taken this classic cocktail to a new level by adding in a good glug of gin and using Acti-Vit Lemon, Lime & Orange Sparkling Vitamin Water as the main mixer. Those delectably complex, vibrant citrus tones are the perfect match for the rich gin and the complex spice of the bitters. This easy, low-calorie, low-sugar cocktail recipe is a must-try!

Lemon, lime, orage & bitters cocktail recipe

25ml gin
75ml Acti-Vit Lemon, Lime & Orange Sparkling Vitamin Water
50ml soda water
3 - 5 dashes of Angostura bitters
Lime slices and mint sprigs, to garnish

Pour the gin, Acti-Vit and soda water into a chilled highball and fill it with ice. Add the Angostura bitters. Garnish and enjoy!

Shirley Sunrise

We have used the brilliantly bright and fruity flavours of Acti-Vit Tropical Boost Sparkling Vitamin Water to add a tropical touch to the classic Shirley Temple mocktail recipe - traditionally made with ginger ale and grenadine. A splash of gin then turns it into a cocktail with layers of deep flavour. The pomegranate flavours of the grenadine work so well with the mango, passionfruit and pineapple tones of the Tropical Boost, and they make for mouthwatering partners to the juniper of the gin. Yum!

25ml gin
10ml grenadine
150ml Acti-Vit Tropical Boost Sparkling Vitamin Water
Cherry, to garnish

Add Gin and Acti-Vit to a highball glass and fill it with ice. Gently pour in the grenadine. Garnish, serve and enjoy!
