If you love bees and gin then you need to help yourself to Kirkjuvagr Beyla Honey & Raspberry Old Tom Gin on the Craft Gin Club online shop.

Craft Gin Club has worked with the amazing team at Orkney Distilling, an Orkney gin company that Clubbers will know from the joyous Kirkjuvagr Yuletide Gin in our December 2021 gin box, to offer a FREE packet of bee-saving wildflower seeds with every purchase of Kirkjuvagr Beyla Honey & Raspberry Old Tom Gin.

Never has there been a better or easier way to help save the bees with gin!

How do wildflowers help save the bees?

Wildflowers are a fantastic source of food for bees and other pollinators like butterflies, yet many wildflower habitats are being lost due to human activity. With this important larder for them to eat from, bee populations are dwindling.

By spreading wildflower seeds, you can help to make sure that a vital source of food for bees is maintained, while also spreading a little beauty into the world too.

Who doesn’t love looking at a colourful field of wildflowers, after all? Especially while sipping on Orkney Distilling’s Kirkjuvagr Beyla gin!

On a single day in summer, one acre of wildflower meadow can contain 3 million flowers, producing 1 kg of nectar sugar. That’s enough to support nearly 96,000 honey bees per day.

What is Kirkjuvagr Beyla Honey & Raspberry Old Tom Gin?

Named after Beyla, the Nordic goddess of Bees and fertility, Kirkjuvagr Beyla Honey & Raspberry Old Tom Gin is a sweet, fragrant and fruity take on a classic Old Tom gin. You can find out more about classic Old Tom gins here.

It is made by Orkney Distilling, a distillery on the mystical, weather-beaten Orkney Islands, where the people have celebrated their Nordic heritage for centuries.

Like all Kirkjuvagr Orkney gins, it’s made with local botanicals, many of which were originally brought to the islands by Vikings. The Beyla edition of Kirkjuvagr gin is extra-special because it is made with Scottish raspberries and Orcadian honey.
