What makes Tonica Superfine Tassoni so, well, super fine?!

This month, we travelled to the western shore of Lake Garda and uncovered exactly what goes into making the crystal-clear liquid in the bottles of Tonica Superfine Tassoni, featured in January 2020’s Gin of the Month box!

Why so special?

Tonica Superfine Tassoni is a quintessentially Italian tonic, and that’s what makes it so special.

Over the course of its 226 years of history, the company Cedral Tassoni, which has been run by the same family for four generations, has been producing Tassoni beverages in Salò, Brescia, with the Alps to one side and Lake Garda on the other.

Using this breathtakingly beautiful landscape as inspiration, they create tonics destined to be the toast of Italian connoisseurs, from Rome to Milan.

What does it taste like?

It replaces traditional quinine with the beautiful and natural bitterness of quassin, an extract from the quassia tree, which blends with fragrant citrus notes of Diamante fruit.

What does it mix well with?

Juniper-forward and citrus gins, as well as those with botanicals foraged in the Alps.

Craft Gin Club members can buy additional Tonica Superfina Tassoni in our online store while stocks last.
