Sloe gin and blood oranges are a winter cocktail pairing made in heaven

Sloe gin and blood oranges are a winter cocktail pairing made in heaven

The arrival of vibrant, juicy, crimson blood oranges on our shop shelves in the middle of winter feels like an absolute blessing - a little ray of warm summer sunshine to help us through the cold, dark nights!

In this easy cocktail recipe, the sweetness of sloe gin pairs beautifully with the sharp citrus juice, and that rich sloe flavour takes on an even deeper, richer note from the addition of a splash of Maraschino cherry liqueur.

Of course, you could also use normal orange juice to make this drink and it will be just as tasty. Using freshly squeezed juice instead of shop-bought is definitely preferable, if possible, for maximum flavour, though. Enjoy!
