The hugely popular French Martini is a delicious, simple cocktail that traditionally combines vodka with pineapple juice and Chambord liqueur for a sweet, fruity tipple that’s a real crowd-pleaser. Here, we’ve elevated this lovely drink by replacing the vodka with gin to make it even more tasty! With only three ingredients, it couldn’t be easier to make at home and we just know you’re going to love it.
For an added touch of glamour - and just a little dryness, if you prefer your cocktails not too sweet - you can even turn it into a ginny Sparkling French Martini by adding 50ml of dry sparkling wine or champagne. It’s a gorgeous choice for a cocktail party! You could also try boosting the raspberry notes in the cocktail with a fabulous pink gin, such as the Manchester Raspberry-Infused Gin. Cheers - or as the French would say, “chin chin!”
Gin French Martini
45ml gin
15ml Chambord* (or other raspberry liqueur)
45ml pineapple juice
Wedge of fresh pineapple or a few fresh raspberries, to garnish
Fill a shaker with ice then add the gin, raspberry liqueur and pineapple juice and shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with pineapple wedge or three fresh raspberries threaded onto a cocktail stick. Serve!
*What is Chambord? This is an indulgent French liqueur (hence the name!) made of raspberry and blackberry, and infused with Madagascan vanilla and Cognac. You can buy it in most supermarkets, drinks specialist shops and online.
