Each month, for ‘Throwback Thursday’, we shine a spotlight on one of Craft Gin Club’s former Gins of the Month, to showcase these spectacular spirits to anyone who missed them the first time around, or remind our lucky members just how delicious they were!
This month, we’re winding back in time one year, to May 2019, when we collaborated with the wonderful Romeo’s Gin, a craft gin distiller based in Montreal, Canada, and specially imported four limited-edition bottle designs, featuring the work of Montreal artists, which were not available for purchase in the UK.
Designed to capture the taste of Montreal on the first day of spring, juniper is enhanced with the fresh, light notes of cucumber, lemon and dill.
You can find out more about Romeo’s Gin and exactly why we think it’s so special in a few of the features below (including our tips for the tastiest way to drink it!). Head on over to our online shop if you’d like to pick up your very own bottle of this modern masterpiece!
Story Behind the Gin: Making a Masterpiece
After winning a gold medal at the World Spirits Competition for super premium vodka, Montreal-based Canadian distillers Nick and Stephane started to think about what could come next. At that time,“the gin craze didn’t exist at all,” says distiller and founder Nick. “Nobody was talking about gin. But I love gin, and I love art. So, I said to myself, ‘Let’s combine both universes.’”
Enter Romeo’s Gin, the perfect blend of art and craft - craft gin, in this case, and a gin which has gone on to prove wildly more successful than We unravel the fascinating story of how Romeo’s Gin has transformed how the art world and the gin world can work together – and also how a craft gin can taste.
