With a light, bright mix of sparkling wine, gin and lychee flavours, this refreshing and delectably complex cocktail is easy to make and perfect for when you want to put all of the heavy, rich delights of Christmas behind you - it’s great all year round, in fact!
Inspired by the unique mix of Vietnamese spice, fruit and citrus tones to be found in Sông Cái Việt Nam Dry Gin, Craft Gin Club’s fabulous January 2022 Gin of the Month, this cocktail uses lychee syrup to add a fragrant, sweet fruitiness and Angostura bitters to give the tipple a delicate spice. The bubbly wine then adds a vibrant crispness that is completely moreish and utterly delicious!
Lychee & Gin Spritz
This cocktail can be served in a rocks glass or a coup glass, we love the elegance of a coupe glass though!
25ml Sông Cái Việt Nam Dry Gin
25ml lychee syrup from canned lychees
100ml sparkling white wine (we recommend champagne or prosecco)
5ml Simple Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Lemon twist, fresh herb and lychees, to garnish (optional)
Add all the ingredients apart from the sparkling white wine and garnishes to a shaker or stirring glass with lots of ice and stir well. Pour over ice into your glass, top up with the wine and garnish with two lychees and a fresh herb of your choice. Twist a lemon peel over your cocktail, then discard it if you so wish. Enjoy!
