We are in love with this tropical punch cocktail that mixes gin AND tequila with Cointreau, pineapple juice and lime - it’s fruity, zesty and boozy in all of the right places, making it a fantastic cocktail to enjoy in the garden on hot summer days!
What gin should I use in this cocktail?
We recommend using Astraea Spirit Meadow Gin, Craft Gin Club’s June 2022 Gin of the Month, in this cocktail recipe.
Inspired by the wildflowers of Paradise Meadow at the base of Mount Rainier, close to the Astraea Spirits distillery in Seattle, it’s a symphony of floral and citrus notes that work so well with the agave-rich hum of the tequila and zesty fruit in this punch.
Is tequila stronger than vodka? What is tequila’s alcohol percentage?
Tequila and vodka are around as strong as each other.
The alcohol percentage normally varies between 38% and 55% for classic tequilas made with Mexican blue agave, whereas the most common alcohol percentage for vodkas is 40% (however the alcohol percentage of vodka can vary between 35% and some vodkas can even reach around 90% ABV!).
Gin & Tequila Pineapple Punch
45ml Astraea Spirits Meadow Gin
45ml pineapple juice
10ml Cointreau
10ml lime juice
5ml tequila (Mezcal also works great in this cocktail and gives it smokier tones!)
Raw or grilled pineapple slice and a sprig of mint, to garnish
Add all your ingredients, except your garnish, to a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass with ice and garnish. Enjoy!
