What we said: “This is such a sophisticated bottle - bold but elegant. I can imagine it sitting on Don Draper’s bar in Mad Men while everyone swans about looking impossibly stylish, drinking martinis. The dream!” — Craft Gin Content Manager, Victoria
Award: Spirits Artwork and Bottle Design
Highly Commended: Chinnery Gin
What the judges said: “This bottle is colourful, playful, and very well executed with the die cuts and the fact that you can see inside the windows to reveal colourful designs within the bottle.
“Clever and sweet, it harks back to a vintage ‘20s feel and really delivers on the themes of the China trade, Dublin facades, and the homage to George Chinnery.”
What we said: “This is a really unique bottle and would really stand out on any drinks shelf! I love the vintage feel to it.” - Craft Gin Club Community Content Manager, Beccy
Award: Spirits Artwork and Bottle Design
Winner: Mermaid Gin
What the judges said: “This bottle is exceptional: perfect at every possible level.
“This is a gin with a sense of place and provenance, a beautiful symbol of the Isle of Wight with its marine motifs. It perfectly highlights the story of the distillery, and the scales and graduating colour give a beautiful representation of the sea and island life.
“Impossible to ignore, this was the stand-out piece in the room. A highly innovative design and a worthy winner indeed.”
What we said: “It has blue glass mermaid scales! Do I need to say any more?! The blue ombre and shiny gold bits are simply too pretty to look away from.
“It makes me feel like I'm drifting in a beautiful tropical paradise somewhere (or is that just the gin?).” - Craft Gin Club Content Producer, Eloise
