We are huge advocates of home drinking and as a member of the Craft Gin Club, there really is no need to leave the comfort of your own home to sample some amazing gin! We deliver to your door, along with mixers, treats and cocktail ingredients! However, if we do have to venture out, the gin bar has to be spot on! So here are our picks of the UK’s prettiest gin bars - is there one in a city near you?
The Florist - Liverpool
The Florist in Liverpool opened its doors last February, and in just 12 months has established itself as the city’s most stunning – and most Instagrammable – cocktail bar. It’s The Florist’s beautifully crafted interiors which set it apart. The architecture of the Grade II listed building is complemented by the floral installations and bespoke art by Gemma Compton. Carolyn explains, “We aim to intrigue and uplift our customers by creating sensory moments.”
Mr Foggs, House of Botanicals - London
The lush cocktail bar takes its name and inspiration from Phileas Fogg, the main character of Jules Verne’s 1873 novel Around the World in Eighty Days. Emma explains, “We aim to take guests on a sensory journey to an enchanted land of plants, herbs and spices from Phileas Fogg’s voyage.”
The leafy ground floor is ideal for a casual tipple. Its sky-high ceilings and large sash windows – which allow lots of natural light in – make for an airy atmosphere.
Dirty Martini - Birmingham
A former Grade II listed banking hall on Bennetts Hill has been transformed into a decadent drinking den - brimming with plush furnishings and striking features.
And its owners are hoping Dirty Martini will be the perfect place for night-time "escapism". and has an unsurprisingly tantalising array of martinis on the menu.
Tattu - Manchester
From beautiful cherry blossom trees, to the ornate decor, Tattu is an enchanted wonderland, where custom cocktails are key and pan-Asian cuisine is served up on big sharing platters. Sip on a "Fly With Me" cocktail, made with gin (hurrah!) violette liqueur, lemon, oats and honey syrup and a dash of cherry blossom.
The Corinthian Club - Glasgow
Located in the Merchant City, The Corinthian Club is unlike any other bar in Scotland. Once a bank, the building that houses the Corinthian Club was completely transformed into an upmarket destination popular with visitors and business executives living in Scotland. The decor is stunning, and even after refurbishment you can get a glimpse of the historic interiors.
The Botanist - Coventry
Explore a secret garden of botanicals, while sipping on carefully crafted gin cocktails. The Botanist's decor is reminiscent of a beautiful wild garden in bloom, with antiques and trinkets hanging from the walls, you'll feel like you have slipped down the rabbit hole...
