Snoop Dog knows it, Craft Gin Club members know it and now you know it: gin and juice are a match made in heaven! That delectable combination of rich, complex, juniper-forward gin and sweet, fragrant fruit juice is one of life’s simple yet great pleasures.
There is a catch though.
Because gin and juice cocktails are so simple and easy to make at home, they rely on the quality of their ingredients and it is for this reason that when making gin and juice cocktails you must choose a high-quality craft gin and the best fruit juice you can find.
For us, that means choosing from craft gins and fruit juices available on the Craft Gin Club online shop.
What is Gin and Juice?
“Gin and Juice” can refer to any cocktail that mixes gin, preferably London Dry gin, with fruit juice.
One of the most popular Gin-and-Juice combinations is gin and orange juice and the simplest form of this would be 50ml of gin in a glass with ice, topped up with orange juice (it couldn't be easier!) - you can find some stunning gin and orange juice cocktail recipes here.
“Gin and Juice” is also the name of a famous song by the seminal rapper Snoop Dog. It was released in 1993 on November 23rd and was the second single on Doggystyle, Snoop Dog’s debuted album.
What juice goes with gin?
Any fruit juice can go with gin, it just depends on the preference of person making the cocktail.
If you like sour cocktails then try mixing lemon or lime juice with your favourite craft gin.
If you like sweeter drinks, berry juices like strawberry, blueberry and raspberry juice are all fantastic with gin.
One of the reasons that orange juice and blood orange juice are so popular with gin is that they have that perfect balance of sweet and tart that mixes the best of both worlds.
It’s also fun (and delicious!) to go season with your fruit juice selection. In summer, watermelons and berries are great. In Autumn, think apple juice or pear juice or even blackberry juice. In winter, think clementine juice and plum juice. In spring, try rhubarb juice!
