There are only four types of gin drinker - which one are you?!

One of the best things about gin is the variety that it offers. It not only comes in so many different divine flavours and forms, but it can also be enjoyed in so many different ways by so many different people.

At Craft Gin Club we have identified a couple of different types of gin drinker out there, from within our team and the wider gin community.

Have a look and see if any of these apply to you - if you aren’t one of these then you will certainly know someone who is!

  1. The Eager Explorer!

The Taster

Seeing a fully stocked gin bar has been known to send you into fits of excitement like a child in a sweet shop!

With so many gins to try and so little time to get through them, you often have to bring in some backup - whether your friends want to help or not…

Taking charge of the gin menu, you order for the group. Nobody is allowed the same; everyone has to have a different gin, because - just like when it comes to ordering food in a restaurant - you want to try everything!

You then go around the table trying a sip from every glass. No-one is safe - well, this is the main reason you brought them, after all…

Your friends forgive you though, as you’ve always got the best top tips on what gins to treat yourselves to! What’s more, you’re always looking for fun and creative ways to enjoy a good G&T, so drinks at your place are never boring!

2. The Sensory Sipper

The Sipper

You may have been called a slow-coach at the bar from time to time but you don’t care: you want to savour every sip of every gin drink you are lucky enough to have at your fingertips!

There is no downing your drink here - you are not an animal and you will not be rushed by the last train or the taxi waiting outside - much to the frustration of your impatient comrades!

No. Let the gannets gulp at their lesser beverages, you want to savour every nuance of flavour and texture. Gin is to be respected!

When it’s not in a G&T, you love gin in something rich and aromatic like a negroni.

3. The Fruit Fanatic

The Fruit Fanatic

Eccentric? Yes. A little crazy? Maybe. The life of the party? Definitely!

You are as fruity, sweet and flavoursome as your favourite candy-coloured, berry-licious gins! Your passion and exuberance are probably what got most of your friends into gin in the first place.

From fruity flavoured liqueurs to colour-changing cocktails, you know and love all of the brightest and boldest flavours on the gin shelf!

Through your ginny adventures you have developed your taste, so now nothing short of fantastic flavour will do for you or them. That’s why your gin collection, garnish store and taste in cocktails is the most colourful, vibrant and oh-so-delicious of all!

If you haven’t tried a Gin-A-Colada yet then you definitely should - we know you will just love it!

4. The Craft Connoisseur

The Connoisseur

A traditionalist through and through, you take joy in close detail and fine craftsmanship.

That’s why you can often be found sipping your gin neat to get a true sense of the flavour, and then others will watch with their mouths open wide as you add a drop of water to bring out more of those delectable London dry aromas. You know exactly what you are doing - you liked classic gin well before it was fashionable, after all!

You love learning about how your favourite tipple is made, too. That’s why you always hog each month’s issue of GINNED! Magazine and have even tried to make gin yourself (we are still waiting for our taster sample to arrive here at the club!).

When it’s time to stir things up, a martini is the only thing that will do it for your sophisticated appetites.

Which kind of gin drinker are you? Would your friends agree?! And who among your friends is a Sensory Sipper, a Craft Connoisseur or a Fruity Fanatic?! Tag your gin pals on Facebook to see if they agree!
