This cocktail is a cheeky - boozy - take on a traditional non-alcoholic drink, the Saint Clement’s!
The original alcohol-free mocktail is, in turn, named after the classic English nursery rhyme, ‘Oranges and Lemons’ as a nod to its primary ingredients: equal parts orange juice and bitter lemon. We’ve taken the concept for this delicious flavour combination and given it a ginny overhaul to create a fabulous, citrussy cocktail!
Where the traditional recipe calls for equal parts orange juice and bitter lemon (or lemon juice, depending on who you ask) served over ice in a highball glass, we’ve replaced the orange juice with lovely, warming orange liqueur, added a double measure of citrus-led gin (or your favourite London Dry will also be just fine).
A squeeze of refreshingly tart fresh lemon juice is then balanced with a little sweetness from the simple syrup.
The result? A refreshing, warming and bright Martini-style tipple. Cheers!
