Merchant’s Heart Spirit Enhancers have been carefully crafted to elevate your gin without hiding any of its nuanced flavours, giving you a full and true experience of the spirit. That’s why we just had to include their Floral Aromatics Tonic Water and their Pink Peppercorn Tonic Water in our October 2020 Gin of the month box for our members to try!
The genius of these wonderful mixers can be found in their “hollow centre”, which is a gap in the core of their flavour profile where strong notes are left out. Instead, the defining notes of the mixer are soft and delicate. They come through as base and top notes, allowing the gin to take centre stage.
We’ve found the perfect serve for the two editions that we sent in our October box and for their gorgeous Hibiscus edition. You need to give each one a try!
Merchant’s Heart Floral Aromatics Tonic Water
Merchant’s Heart Floral Aromatics Tonic Water is a beautiful mixer that’s full of stunning fruit and citrus tones that are perfectly balanced against delectably bitter quinine. It’s a brilliant partner to a good London Dry Gin, especially when garnished with a twirl of fragrant orange rind and delicately fruity pink peppercorns.
Ingredients
50ml gin
150ml Merchant’s Heart Floral Aromatics
Orange peel, to garnish
Pink Peppercorns, to garnish
Method
Add the gin and the tonic water to a glass over ice. Stir then garnish and serve.
Merchant’s Heart Hibiscus
A truly exceptional tipple, Merchant’s Heart Hibiscus is a symphony of unique floral, citrus and orchard fruit flavours that charm and excite, especially when accompanied by gin. When it comes to garnishing this gin drink, we think that less is more, the simpler the better. That’s why we like to serve this tipple with just a single twirl of lemon peel, which brings out those gin and hibiscus tones beautifully.

They are combined with deliciously bitter quinine to make a mixer that’s the perfect partner to gin. We like to garnish this pairing with lemon peel and pink peppercorns as they really bring out the stunning flavours of both the gin and the tonic water.
