If you’re looking for a drink to serve at your next cocktail party that is going to draw ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ of admiration as soon as you bring out the tray - and is guaranteed to get the conversation flowing - then this mystical, magical purple tipple is the way to go!
It requires a few ingredients, but they’re all staples of many cocktails so won’t sit in the back of the cupboard collecting dust, and in terms of difficulty, well, all you need to do is assemble the different elements, shake and pour!
If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you create this in a pitcher with lots of ice and stir, stir, stir for at least a minute before straining into your martini glass or coupe.
Lavender & Blueberry Gin Cocktail
20ml gin
20ml Cointreau
20ml lemon juice
20ml vermouth
20ml absinthe
15ml crème de violette
Lavender sprig and/or blueberries, to garnish
Combine your gin, triple sec, lemon juice, vermouth, absinthe and crème de violette in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake hard and strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish and serve.
