There are few things more wonderful than laying back on the sand and enjoying Britain’s luscious beaches with a Pedrino Spritz in your hand. But which Pedrino Spritz should you choose?
Design your perfect trip to the seaside and we’ll tell you which is best suited to you. Pedrino Sherry & Tonic Spritz, Vermouth & Tonic Spritz or Ruby & Tonic Spritz, each one is as delicious as the next - you can’t lose!
First, let’s do a quick-fire round so that we can set off as early as we can and spend the maximum amount of time at the beach as possible!
Do you prefer a sandy beach (1 point) or a pebbly beach (2 points)?
Are you looking for a secluded spot (1 point) or an old-school seaside town (2 points)?
Do you get there by car (1 point) or train (2 points)?
Now those are decided, you can start thinking about what to wear:
A speedo, cozzie or bikini? (1 point)
You are simply here to chill and top up your tan!
A rash vest and board-short combo? (2 points)
You want to be ready for anything!
A full-on wetsuit (3 points)
Britain’s seas are your’s for the taking. You are the first one racing in and the last one racing out. You don’t paddle, you dive in like an over-zealous sardine!
Now you are at the beach and changed into the appropriate attire, it’s time to pick an activity:
Sunbathing (1 point)
You came actually along to avoid doing any activities. Everyone else can run along and play nicely, preferably at the other end of the beach. You just want to chill out for a couple of hours.
Rockpooling (2 points)
An amateur zoologist and naturalist (not naturist - you can keep your clothes on!) with a keen eye and a thirst for exploration, you are endlessly fascinated by the fauna and flora of the sea and love nothing more than venturing out to the rock pools to see what you can find!
Beach Games (3 points)
A picture of energy and a born leader, you are always galvanising the team into a game of rounders, Frisbee, bat and ball or cricket. No one will be bored or lazy on your watch, sunbathers beware! What’s more, you see the beach as the perfect place to show off your engineering abilities: you are always project manager on the dig to Australia and head up the bid to stop the tide coming in with a huge wall, and you are just waiting on your call from Architectural Digest so they can come and see your castle. But your true passion really lies in working with others, especially when they let you bury them up to their neck and give them mermaid boobs.
Now we must consider the all-important questions of what to do for lunch. Luckily there can only ever be a couple of options when at the seaside:
Shellfish (1 point)
Usually landlocked, your opportunities for truly fresh seafood are few and far between, so you are certainly not going to miss this one. From dressed crab to cockles and mussels, the sweet, seaward flavours of the freshest shellfish Britain’s coastline has to offer are a rare treat!
Fish and Chips (2 points)
Is it possible to take a trip to the seaside and not have fish and chips, would that simply be sacrilege? It certainly would be to a true traditionalist like yourself. The lightest, crispest batter coating the freshest, most pearlescent white fish, which just flakes away delectably with the softest of pushes from your tiny wooden fork. And those chips, oh those chips! Not too fat, not too thin, just right. What gloriously golden batons of wonder they are, especially when doused in a generous helping of salt and vinegar to get your tongue tingling with joy. The experience is completed by that regally rich and hearty triumvirate of chip shop curry sauce, mushy peas and tartar sauce. There is no choosing between the three here, you are on your holiday. Bliss!
Picnic (3 points)
Ready with your basket and blanket, you love a good old picnic. Delicious sandwiches abound, and with them come a vast array of crisps, sausage rolls, pork pies, veg sticks and hummus along with any other ‘picky bits’ you can fit in. Banqueting on the sand is your favourite way to spend luncheon in the sun.
And for dessert?
Fried Doughnuts (1 point)
There is something about that vanilla-laced smell of frying batter which lingers invitingly around seaside kiosks and fairground stands, it just can’t be beaten or matched! You love nothing more than buying a bag of those warm, soft doughnuts and feeling that delightful sensation of granulated sugar on your lips and fingers. One is never enough, that’s for sure!
Ice cream (2 points)
No trip to the seaside would be complete without ice cream! A towering 99 with a flake would be traditional, of course, but you also can’t go wrong with a mound of gelato or a ball of mint choc chip, strawberry, vanilla or chocolate. Yum!
Sweeties! (3 points)
Whether colourful hard sticks of rock or bags of penny sweets, there is something about that seaside air (maybe it’s the slight saltiness of it) that always makes you crave something sweet and fruity!
