Every bottle of our May ‘19 Gin of the Month, romeo’s gin, was embellished with a gorgeous design from one of five contemporary artists from Montreal, where the gin was also produced. Inspired, we worked with romeo’s gin to create a cocktail to reflect each artist’s personality and their art!
Here, we present two cocktails: the Stikki Peaches - a bold, colorful and cheerful cocktail with echoes of this anonymous street artist’s work, and the Santerre, unique blend of sweet, sour and spicy flavours, bursting with colour. Grab your cocktail shakers, people: it’s time to get creative!
The Stikki Peaches
60ml gin (we used romeo’s gin)
20 ml cranberry juice
30ml freshly squeezed orange juice
15ml peach schnapps
15ml grenadine syrup
1 peach slice in syrup, to garnish
Popping candy (we used Sparkling Pop Rocks green apple candy)
In a shaker filled with ice, combine the gin, cranberry juice, orange juice and peach schnapps. Shake well, then strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Add the grenadine syrup. Dip the peach quarter in popping candy and use it as the cocktail garnish.
The Santerre
60ml Romeo’s Gin
60ml ginger beer
30ml carrot juice
30ml lemon juice
2 drops hot sauce
1 jelly candy, to garnish
Fill a highball glass with ice and add the gin, carrot juice, ginger drink, lemon juice and hot sauce. Mix gently. Garnish with the candy and serve.
