Turn three of your favourite Christmas foodie treats into decadent, delicious cocktails!

Mince Pies, Chocolate Oranges, Sticky Toffee Pudding, oh my! Now imaGIN these delicious Christmas classics as cocktails! Better still, they can all be created in the comfort of your own home, so crank up the Christmas tunes and grab the cocktail shaker! .

These fabulous recipes all come from Kitchen Cocktails, Recipes From London Cocktail Club, a beautiful book from drinks industry expert and founder of The London Cocktail Club bar group JJ Goodman. This gorgeously glossy book is packed with over 160 delicious cocktail recipes specially designed to be made at home, with ingredients you can find in your kitchen cupboard or pick up in your local supermarket.


Nothing screams Christmas like the smell of mulled wine in the air and I can’t get enough of this recipe! Not even a full-blooded Scrooge could resist at least a glass on a frosty Christmas Day, so lock the doors, switch on the fire, and let this classic warm your soul!

Terry’s Chocolate Orange Mulled Wine

100ml gin or scotch whisky
750ml shiraz red wine
1 (175g) Terry’s Chocolate Orange
10 cloves
5 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2tsp powdered nutmeg
75g brown sugar
Juice of 1 orange and rind

Add all the ingredients in a large saucepan, simmer for 6-8 minutes until all the chocolate has dissolved. Remove from heat, leave to stand for 5 minutes then pour from the saucepan to your favourite mugs. Garnish each with 1 star anise, 1 half of an orange slice and grated nutmeg.


Imagine a Christmas version of Baileys Irish cream, well.. This quick homemade eggnog tastes just that. This is for those of you who love a bit of booze with your festive mince pies. I’m sure if you left one out for Santa he’d take you off the naughty list!

Mince Pie Flip

30ml gin or whisky
2 tsp fruit mincemeat
1 whole egg
20ml cream
5ml vanilla extract
10ml sugar syrup
Orange twist, to garnish

Add all the ingredients to a shaker with cubed ice. Shake and fine strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with an orange twist.


It always cheers me up to see my favourite dessert, the sticky toffee pudding, mixed in with my favourite cocktail, the Old Fashioned. If the turkey needs a hand washing itself down, reach for one of these to help your digestion along nicely.

Sticky Toffee Old Fashioned

60ml toffee gin
10ml simple syrup
1 dash angosturra
1 drop vanilla extract

Add the ingredients to a mixing glass filled with cubed ice, stir and strain into a rocks glass filled with cubed ice.
