Bold and golden-hued - this delicious gin cocktail recipe, with just a hint of absinthe, was inspired by the sunflower paintings of Van Gogh!
Featuring the incredibly chic and very French St Germain elderflower liqueur that starred in our member’s May 2019 Gin of the Month box, this one deserves to be served with a series of kisses on both cheeks and a hearty “santé”!
The Sunflower
30ml gin
30ml St-Germain elderflower liqueur
30ml triple sec
30ml lemon juice
Absinthe, to rinse glass
Lemon zest or a spring of mint to garnish.
Rinse the inside of a coupe glass with absinthe then combine the gin, St-Germain, triple sec and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into the absinthe laced coupe. All that is left to do is garnish with lemon zest or a sprig of mint, or both depending on your personal taste.
