Super-simple to make and as bright as the Nordic midnight sun, this Sainio Sour is one wonderful way to serve August's Gin of the Month: Kyrö Distillery Company's Napue Gin.
Sainio Gin Sour
40ml Napue Gin
2tbsp sea buckthorn berries, or 20ml unsweetened sea buckthorn juice
20ml vanilla syrup
30ml lemon juice
To make vanilla syrup, combine equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan with a few drops of vanilla extract. Simmer until thick.
To make the cocktail, shake your ingredients in a cocktail shaker packed with ice. Strain into a glass filled with ice and garnish with sea buckthorn berries and a vanilla pod.
