30 November marks St Andrew's day, Scotland's official national day. Of course, Scotland's most celebrated boozy tipple is whisky - although gin is not far behind, with craft distilleries such as Theodore’s Pictish Gin (our Gin of the Month in July 2019) leading the way in the Scottish gin revolution.
(Of course, some might argue that Scotland’s real favourite drink is - you guessed it! - Irn Bru. If you are a fan of the fizzy orange staple, you might want to check out these gin and Irn Bru serving suggestions!)
So, in honour of Scotland's national day, we’ve brought together these two magnificent spirits and chosen two of the best whisky and gin cocktail recipes to make at home.
Take note, these libations pack a mighty hefty punch so if you want to stay awake for your celebrations, it might be best to sip at a more leisurely pace than usual!
From all of us here at Craft Gin Club, we raise a glass and wish everyone in Scotland a happy St Andrew’s Day - slàinte mhath!
